Vintage Jewish National Fund Tzedakah Yiddish Tin Metal Donation Box Bank

This is a Vintage Jewish National Fund Tin Bank, typical of collection boxes, known in Yiddish as pushke. Exact collection box posted on Smithsonian website.

These boxes were sent periodically to organizations, such as synagogues, that forwarded the funds onto the Jewish National Fund. In addition to helping fundraise for the JNF, the boxes helped inculcate philanthropic values. They reminded Jews that giving tzedakah was an everyday obligation and encouraged a sense of belonging to the Jewish community. (Tzedakah is Hebrew for “righteous behavior.” By the early 2000s, many understood the word to refer to charitable giving).
HALLMARKS: one side reads Redeems and Reclaims the Land of Israel, on verso "Make The Wilderness Bloom," Label reads "Jewish National Fund, 1831 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA, L0cust-8-2678." (appears to be a New York Address printed on tin)

CANCELLATIONS
Buyer is responsible for making cancellation requests within 12 hours of their initial order. If any packaging has occurred after this timeframe. the buyer's refund will incur the deduction of a restocking fee of 25% or $8, whichever is greater will be subtracted from any refund. The restocking fee also applies for shipping fee adjustments. The buyer is responsible for making a cancellation request within 12 hours of a shipping fee adjustment notice if they choose not to continue with the order.

RETURNS
You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. Your purchase must be in the same condition with all original accessories. Factory Sealed items cannot be returned if opened.

IncVintage will refund the cost of your purchase and shipping charges, if the return is a result of an error or the item arrives damaged. If the customer chooses to return an item due to an error, the return shipping paid will be refunded but at the original cost.

If the customer chooses to return a product for any other reason, the return shipping costs typically are subtracted from any refund, or customers can arrange for and pay for shipping on their own. In addition, a restocking fee of 25% or $8, whichever is greater will be applied.

SEALED or FACTORY SEALED items are considered an ASIS purchase, and NO refund will be considered. LISTING CONDITION
In ALL inspections, the item is assessed first then its original packaging (box, etc.) is assessed when included.
