***5 Day Discount***This is an iron and porcelain 'straphanger' or pivoting grab handle was made by the Rico manufacturing company of the United States in circa 1930 in a period industrial style. These handles were used in subway cars for standing passengers and were also referred to as 'grab handles'. This handle has been mounted on a piece of wood for wall decoration purposes.
HALLMARKS: The cast iron handle has a heavy pivoting bracket at the top that is cast with the name "Rico", "Type 16A" and "Patented" and an engraved brass plaque at the bottom identifying it as originating from an New York city subway car.
DIMENSIONS: Height: 19.5 in (49.53 cm) Width: 5.5 in (13.97 cm) Depth: 6.5 in (16.51 cm)
CONDITION: Wear to the porcelain finish of the handle consistent with age and use. The entire handle may have been clear coated to inhibit rusting. Seller reserves all cleaning of these items to buyer. Please review pictures as they are a very important part of the description of item received in order.
